Info on the
Tiger Rank

WELCOME to the Tiger Intro Page!
This page gives you just a little background on the Tiger Stuff for Pack 13.

First, WELCOME to the Pack and your Den. Each Den will set its own schedule for meetings.
Who are your leaders?
  • The first biggest leader is your Tiger Partner - your parent or guardian. They will be helping you with the fun stuff we'll be doing together.
  • Your Den Leaders are the people that plan the year, and work with the Pack to make sure that everything works just right.
  • A Den Chief is a boy that has already gone on to from Cub Scouting into Boy Scouts and acts like an "assistant" to the den. He is usually in Junior High (6th Grade) or older.
  • Other Leaders
    • Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmasters - in charge of the Pack Nights and Activities (Mr. Markwell, Mr. Ruske and Mrs. Markwell)
    • The Committee Chair - in charge of the whole Pack and all of the stuff that needs to happen like forms, reports (Mr. Yarbrough)
    • Advancement Chair - in charge of making sure our awards are there for pack night and recorded (Mrs. Peterman)
Bobcat!
The first thing we'll be working on will be earning our Bobcat Badge. There are 8 things to do to earn the Bobcat:
  1. Learn and say the CUB SCOUT PROMISE and complete the Honesty Character Connection.
    1. Know: Discuss these questions with your family. What is a promise? What does it mean to "keep your word?" What does honesty mean? What does it mean to "do your best?"
    2. Commit: Discuss these questions with your family. Why is a promise important? Why is it important for people to trust you when you give your word? When might it be difficult to keep your word? List examples.
    3. Practice: Discuss with family members why it is important to be trustworthy and honest and how can you do your best to be honest when you are doing the activities in Cub Scouting.
"I .....(name).... promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my country,
      To help other people, and
To obey the Law of the Pack. "

  2. Say the LAW OF THE PACK. Tell what it means.
"The Cub Scout follows Akela. The Cub Scout helps the pack go. The pack helps the Cub Scout Grow. The Cub Scout gives goodwill."
  3. Tell what WEBELOS means: "WE'll BE LOyal Scouts"
  4. Show the CUB SCOUT SIGN. Tell what it means. Click for the Source of this information
  5. Show the CUB SCOUT HANDSHAKE. Tell what it means.
  6. Say the CUB SCOUT MOTTO. A motto is a guiding principle:
    "Do Your Best"
  7. Give the CUB SCOUT SALUTE. Tell what it means.
  8. Tiger Cub: With your adult partner, complete the "Bobcat Requirements" section in front of the Contents pages of your handbook.
The above items are the basic information that ALL Cub Scouts must learn, which is why EVERY boy who enters into Cub Scouting MUST earn the Bobcat Badge.

NOTE: If you purchased your book prior to this year, the Bobcat Requirements are at the end on page 151.
When the Bobcat Rank is earned, it is pinned on upside-down. The scout must do one good turn (a good deed) to turn it right-side-up.

What About the REST of the Tiger Book?
Click for Tiger RequirementsWell - that's such a big topic - it needs it's own page. So - click on the Tiger Badge to see that page.
