Uniform Specifications

Sometimes it's hard to get a handle on where everything goes on the uniform. Here's your solution! Follow the links below. One is for a brand new scout, never been in Cubbing before. The other is a reference for when you earn rank badges, advancements, recruiter badges, service stars and other official insignias.

Remember that segments and large patches are not part of the official BSA Cub Scout uniform. They are worn on the red brag vest.

Uniform Costs

Uniform purchasing can be daunting. What do I need? How much will it cost? Where do I go? What's required and what's optional? Below is a list of the uniform parts and necessities, year by year.

Items in Light Blue are optional, and not required as part of the official BSA Cub Scout uniforms.

Items in Green can be worn from year to year without repurchasing. The only portion of the uniform that changes from year to year through Tiger, Wolf and Bear are the hats, neckerchiefs, slides and belt buckles. Belt buckles can be purchased separately for approximately $3.20.

All prices are and were collected from the Deicke Scout Shop of Three Fires Council in West Chicago in late November 2005. Prices may vary according to store and location, and do not include sales tax.

Our Pack also has a limited supply of uniform parts that have been turned in by gradutating scouts or those that have left our pack. If you need a uniform part and are having a hard time getting it, please contact the Markwells.
